The Pilot of this Model held it about 10 feet off the runway in a vertical position as shown for about 30 seconds and then applied the power and climbed straight up about 500 feet.  He then did hammer head stalls, figure 8s, tail spins, and other acrobatics to out delight.  This was only practice but there many pilots and various model aircraft there.
